Starting around 1932, zombies have been a scary-yet-surmountable apocalyptic enemy. A shambling, decaying, human-sized foe could be outwitted, outrun, and outgunned. Imagined plans for surviving an outbreak mainly consisted of getting ahold of a ranged weapon and keeping away from the mouths.
Then, 28 Days Later changed the game forever in a horrible, horrible way...

An absolute resounding win for longbow in last week's ranged weapon poll with 42.2% of the vote! Hand crossbow was the next closest with 20%, and some wisenheimer got a real giggle out of me with the write-in entry of ".308 or .300 Win Mag."
