Eve of Vecna was finally released! All this talk of the wizard-turned-lich-turned-diety-who-must-not-be-named (ok, I don't think that's actually a rule...) has us wondering - who would be the best fit to play Vecna in a live-action film?
Let's take a look at some actors with great resting lich faces:
They've done it before and they'll do it again!
If you're going to do justice to the concept art created by the impressive Kieran Yanner, you've got to be able to act your butt off through serious transformative makeup. Ralph Fiennes and Tilda Swinton have already proven themselves up to the task, and would certainly not disappoint.
Bone daddies.
And don't underestimate the importance of body language! Becoming a lich is the latest fad diet, and any actor we cast is going to have to make room in their rib cage for a Book of Vile Darkness. Christian Bale is notorious for his ability to tip the scales, though it may be healthier if we start with an already-svelte actor like LaKeith Stanfield.
But can they do it with one eye?!
Of course, even more important than looks (or a lack of internal organs) is the ability to truly terrify. You need someone with fierce gaze that betrays nothing other than a cold heart. Our favorite experts in this special skill are Anthony Carrigan and Jonathan Rhys Meyers, who could glower the paint off walls.
