D&D DICE FEATURES INTERVIEWS OTHER GAMES POLL RANDOM

Inventory: A Retrospective

Ever wonder what the inventory system for a major dice retailer looks like? We do, too!!

In the meantime, here's a peek at the little-Dice-Envy inventory-that-could, and its growth over the last few years.

From our Master of Inventories, Ian Vaughn:

"Four years ago today, this is what the inventory looked like ... (It's also how it looked at every point before this, but in a closet, or on a shelf, and with varying numbers of bins)."

Little boxes on the shelfside, little boxes made of clicky clacky.
"Scraping the back of your hand on the lids as you shoved it through the thin opening was common, especially on the 3-stacks where there was barely enough room for the bins to open. It was not a good system, and it was mercifully replaced by the current one."
All about that bin, 'bout that bin, no topper.

Though we strive to provide you with big-company products, reliability, and service, at the end of the day we're still just a team of six doing our best.

Like so much Bilbo, our goal is to one day be the world's most underestimated dragon slayer, erm, dice slinger.

Until then, it's nice to take a look once in a while at where our journey started - and how far we've travelled to get here.
