Fantasy Squads are our first tippy-toe into the wide world of wargaming, and boy is that world wide! We wanted to have sets that were functional across games and their respective army factions, so we spent a lot of time on color and symbology when creating these d6s. Here's a behind-the-scenes peek at those process notes!

War Sword (Regal)
War Sword was developed for the most noble of fighters, the adept wielders of ancient strength and terrifying skill... AKA your basic Paladin army. We knew we needed something deep, rich, and bold, but the symbol had to embody the holier-than-though attitude of a good Pally.
Swirled red and black with a contrasting bright white, these orderly d6s are a great match for Bretonnia, Basileans, The Order of the Brothermark, or even Stormcast Eternals.
Polyhedral match: Carina Nebula

War Star (Sky)
We designed these for armies with a natural talent for magic, martial skills, and slaying in style. We were thinking Galadriel, but the combat-heavy version from Rings of Power.
Ethereal blue and white dice, inked in sunlit gold, are perfect for High Elves (winged helmets not included).
Polyhedral match: Midsummer's Eve

War Spiral (Sick)
For the baddies! The crazies! The gross and the grim! Primitive, haphazard, and generally troublesome, these goblin-inspired dice needed to be as wild as they were deadly.
In psycho green and screwball yellow, these black-inked dice will fit your next Goblin, Orc, Gloomspite Gitz, Ironjawz, or Kruleboyz army juuust right.
Polyhedral match: Toxic Love

War Skull (Necro)
This design was interesting to tackle, since we desperately needed an undead faction variant, but there are so many different ones to choose from! We ended up leaning very ancient-magic and embracing the Egyptian and Aztec necromantic influences.
While the arcane teal and ancient gold skull make them the perfect fit for Tomb Kings, they will also work for Vampires or denizens of Lustria.
Infinity d4 match: Pixel Skulls - Vanilla Goth

War Shield (Empire)
Full disclosure: these dice were aimed at covering the human factions, and after taking a look around at the inspirations the design note was, "basic bit** humie dice".
Primary tones of red, blue, and yellow make these foundational rollers great for The Empire, Kingdoms of Men, and even Cities of Sigmar. As for the emblazoned shield symbol? They say the best offense is a good defense!
Polyhedral match: America's Ass

War Horns (Blood)
Beastmen! Dudes with animal heads! This was a hugely simple decision, since our polyhedral Orc Blood set already embodies the savage, the primal, and the bloodied.
Carmine red and matte black, what more is needed for your army of Gaves or Gors?
Polyhedral match: Orc Blood

War Hammer (Flint)
A faction every fantasy gamer can relate to, whether they're playing Pathfinder or WoW. Dwarves (or dwarfs) also grace the realm of tabletop miniatures and bring along some of their better known hobbies, like mining and forging!
A hammer symbol was an absolute must, inked in precious gold, of course. The die itself is a distinct layered style in shades of grey and black, evoking the rocky depths dwarfs are familiar with.
Polyhedral match: Loin Stone

War Growth (Glade)
The only set that we actively struggled with naming, since the other options were War Leaf, War Sprig, and War Sprout. Not very war-like, eh? The Legolases of the world would have been offended, so we settled on War Growth instead, which has a sort of mossy-fungusy-type threat to it...
In shimmering greens and lofty gold inking, War Growth (Glade) is perfect for Elves who prefer the company of trees.
Polyhedral match: Thorn Whip

War Chaos (Dark)
Warhammer from Games Workshop is the absolute leader in miniature wargaming, so we would have been remiss to exclude the ubiquitous Warriors of Chaos from our planning. Since our sets are officially unofficial, this was certainly the most difficult symbol to conceptualize, but I think we did ok.
In corrupted blacks that swirl with malice, this set is ready to contaminate the souls of man and beast alike.
Polyhedral match: Lump of Coal
